The thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland located at the base on the throat.

It is responsible for metabolism and plays a role in many different reactions in the body.

Common signs of low thyroid function (hypothyroidism) include:

  • fatigue
  • aches and pains
  • PMS
  • fertility concerns
  • weight gain (or difficulty losing weight)
  • headaches
  • hair loss
  • brittle nails
  • depression
  • brain fog
  • constipation
  • puffiness
  • swelling at base of throat

Common signs of over thyroid function (hyperthyroidism) include:

  • unexplained weight loss
  • sleep disturbances
  • anxiety
  • heart palpitations
  • headaches
  • swelling at base of throat
  • bulging eyes

Regular blood work does not always identify thyroid problems. Comprehensive urine and blood tests, along with a simple basal body temperature test, will help to properly assess thyroid function so I can develop a treatment plan that best suits your needs.
