I am passionate about integrative medicine – this involves discussing all of the available options and making informed decisions about a health plan tailored to each individual.
My approach is whole-person & patient-centered.
Naturopathic therapies are chosen based on the level evidence to support benefit. I am also acutely aware of dosing and timing treatments so they will not negatively impact conventional treatment but will instead support them. Combining naturopathic and conventional treatments has been shown to:
- strengthen the immune system
- support the body’s inherent healing ability
- reduce side effects and help sustain wellness during aggressive cancer treatments
- prevent re-occurence
- improve quality of life and overall survival rates
Integrative cancer care believes in treating the whole person – the mind, body, and spirit. I also believe for optimal results to be achieved, every person with cancer deserves to have a support team – and involving friends, family, and other health care professionals is part of my integrative approach.
I continually update my knowledge and aim to stay on top of the latest integrative medical options. I regularly pursue additional education in integrative cancer care and am a member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP).
I actively embrace open communication and collaboration with allied health professionals, conventional oncologists and surgeons in order to help patients cope with treatment and to support the body’s healing.
My integrative cancer care approach includes:
- Mind-Body Medicine
- Tailored nutritional recommendations
- Appropriate supplementation
- Injection and IV therapies
- Symptom & side effect management
